Window Boy

Since winter 2005, Window Boy has been creating small displays in the left-hand window of Watson's Hardware. His previous displays have been about things like a crystal meth making kit for kids, homicidal snowmen, suicidal closeted homosexual snowmen, safari hunter giraffes, and much more.

In spring 2005 (?) the Grape ran an article about him, including an interview. Window Boy's real name is Keith McGuckin.

On 21 November 2006, he unveiled a display about Nazi gingerbread men (picture on right). Perhaps the most scandalous display yet, Charlie Palmer, the owner of Watson's, demanded it be taken down. A film crew from Fox News came to interview people about it, and it made news in the AP.

On 18 December, Window Boy's Nazi gingerbread men were mentioned on Stephen Colbert's Colbert Report, bringing pride to every Colbert loyalist on the campus.

Window Boy is currently looking for a new place to create his displays.

It was a bunch of little gingerbread dudes surrounding a gingerbread Hitler. They were all saluting and surrounding this pit of fire. It was awesome. --Image:Ljuserinfo.pngprincedisciple, 22 Nov 2006 [1]

I didn't get how this was so offensive or any more offensive then a lot of art pieces I see around town/campus. Of course, I can understand why Watson's wouldn't want that in its window. Sounds like the media just got ahold of a story that had a few elements they love to exploit: nazi signs & self-reflexive liberal college towns. --Image:Ljuserinfo.pngnewpartner, 22 Nov 2006 [2]
