Welztheimer-Johnson House

This is the only Frank Lloyd Wright house in Ohio that is open to the public. Tours are noon to 4 pm on the first and third Sunday of each month; admission is $5.
"This residence is an L-plan Usonian house, and contains exterior ornamentation not found on other Usonian homes." [1] It is the first Usonian house built in Ohio. It was designed upon request of a master's student, Margaret Boesche Weltzheimer, and was finished in 1950. Ellen H. Johnson, an art history professor, bought the house in 1968, partially restored it, and donated it to the college upon her death in 1992.
It is somewhat hard to find on a first pass, but is located on the west end of Morgan Street a ways back from the road on the north side. (The college now has a map, finally.) You're allowed to park along the south side of the road during tour hours.
The college is in the midst of slowly restoring the house to its original specs, mainly in terms of furniture.

[edit] Opinions
Really cool to poke around. It's managed by this neat old hippie lady. But stay away from the bathrooms. —alxndr (talk) 15:14, 3 June 2007 (EDT)
