Talk:What to bring to Oberlin

On bringing or not bringing pleasure reading-- I say bring it, if your hobby is reading at home, why not continue it at school? Last year I read 8-10 books on my own (novels, plays, and non-fiction). I find it especially nice to have pleasure reading as a break from my classwork. Maybe I'm a super-nerd, but since this is college after all, I'm sure I'm not alone. I brought a small bookshelf to school, and I plan to fill it again next year with more of my own books. Comfort food, like my favorite well-worn poetry, novels, and short stories, was really nice to have around when my brain was fried from finals.
