Spring

Spring in Oberlin comes late, but when it comes, everybody can tell that it has been practicing for the last nine months, and its example serves as an inspiration to most students, who start getting more work done and taking LSD at every chance. This is, of course, dependent on a supply of cheap, excellent acid, but Oberlin students are intelligent and always get it together.

The leaves move in slowly, giving us weeks of warm, bright weather, and variety is provided by monster thunderstorms every week or so. The sun is bright, very soft and hazy, and all the insects and pollen in the air make dreams out of afternoon walks and leaves become perfect umbrellas to bliss out to while the oldies cleveland radio plays glittering motown under beautiful noise and static on the lawn and you wave in your sunglasses

The arboretum is hospitable again, birds sing and flash through your eyes, and tappan square returns to its role as a breezy convention center under a leafy roof with people-sized strips of bark peeling off of trees and there is that radio again surf surf noise airplanes

and then the semester ends haha I am such a hippie
