[edit] Description from course catalog

The fall of the Berlin wall in November 1989 marks the beginning of revolutionary changes in Germany’s society, politics, and culture. What are the crucial topics we need to consider and discuss? The seminar will give an overview on how contemporary literature deals with these questions. Poems, plays, prose, and essays by authors coming from the former West as well as from the former East Germany will be discussed. Based on the readings, we shall address the question: Where is Germany situated today?
