Roland Baumann

Roland Baumann is the head archivist at the Archives, and also an adjunct lecturer in the history department. He knows tons about Oberlin history both recent and not so recent. His sense of humor and verbosity reflect a life spent with musty books, but if you know how to extricate yourself when you have to get to class you can learn a whole lot -- and be very entertained -- by talking with him.

He's been at the college since 1987.

Education (from the Archive's website):

  • B.S. University of Wisconsin, 1964
  • M.A. Northern Illinois University, 1966
  • Ph.D. Pennsylvania State University, 1970
