Program houses
A program house is a living space for students who share a common interest, especially a language.
Though language program houses are supposed to be mostly immersive, students sometimes get stuck in a house of a language they don't speak.

“I know for a fact there are in-residence faculty members in Spanish House and Kade (and the one for Spanish house tends to be cold towards people who don't participate / people who don't speak Spanish), and I am not sure about members in French House and Russian House. Spanish House also has two TAs each year, one from Spain and one from South America typically, and they really can make or break the atmosphere (how I wish Vonnie were back).” --

“Program houses are also a choice for freshmen (and anyone) though each program house has its own degree of activity / community. I lived in Harvey for two years (and still do as far as I am aware... :/) and have been surprised how much more active it is w/ regards to Spanish than say Kade is with regards to German (though they have programs too). Third World has a pretty strong and awesome community and if you can get in, I would take that opportunity. Harvey/Kade/Price (Spanish, German, Third World) are all getting heavy renovations this summer too, so if you got here you'll find yourself with new furniture. Let that just be said.
