Oberwiki is a wiki web site for Oberlin College (a four-year liberal arts college in Oberlin, Ohio) and the town of Oberlin. Wiki web sites, like Wikipedia, are open to the public to create and edit the site's content.

Oberwiki is not officially affiliated with Oberlin College.

Oberwiki has a variety of goals, many of them geared towards providing information not available anywhere else, and acting as a hub of opinions on various aspects of life at Oberlin. Go ahead and read a list of goals if you're so inclined.

Oberwiki was started by Xander in August 2004 as a place to organize answers to frequently asked questions from LiveJournal. Since then, it has evolved into a place to collect facts, opinions, thoughts and more about all aspects of Oberlin.

Oberwiki was originally hosted on a server in Xander's home, but in September 2004 the hard drive gave up the ghost, and the site is now hosted via a dedicated webhosting company. Xander is still the main administrator of Oberwiki, doing most of the configuration and maintenance.
