Modern Music Guild

The Modern Music Guild (MMG) is an open, student-run organization that books concerts of experimental music on campus. All shows have free admission and are usually located in Fairchild Chapel or the Cat in the Cream Coffeehouse.

Exactly how the group defines 'experimental music' is subject to the varying curatorial decisions of its members, which have more recently focused on free improvisation and the underground noise circuit. In the past few years, MMG has booked free-improv legend Jack Wright, Anthony Braxton acolyte Taylor Ho Bynum, and John Berndt.
