Lorain County Transit

A public transportation system that offers service all around Lorain County. Most notably, it gets Oberlin students from the school to the Cleveland airport and back. Due to ongoing financial instability, the LCT fares were just recently raised, and now the fare for the airport bus is $4 with OCID.

The pickup point in Oberlin is in front of what used to be RAX Restaurant near the corner of College Street and Pleasant Street, the dropoff point in Oberlin is in front of Carnegie (corner of Lorain and Professor); the pickup/dropoff point at the airport is outside the entrance closest to the United Airlines ticket counter on the upper terminal level.

You can also use the LCT to get into Cleveland and back, by transferring to the Rapid, the rail system run by the RTA. If you ask the LCT bus driver for a transfer when you get on, the trip into Cleveland from the airport is free. The Rapid Transit will take you to Tower City Center in downtown Cleveland, where you can then walk to Amtrak and Greyhound stations. The trip back costs $1.75. Checking the schedules ahead of time is a pain, but this is by far the cheapest way to get to the city. If you don't own a car, it may be the only way.
