How to run for Student Senate

Here are some ideas towards getting elected.

[edit] If you are not that well known

• Make fliers, any kind will do that are legible and not grotesque
• Make a facebook group and invite all your friends
• If you really want to get elected do some sort of stunt
• Vote for yourself, not many people vote in the first place
• Write a short, humble, maybe even witty candidate statement. Use the words diversity, environment, off-campus housing, sex and dining.

[edit] If you are well known and liked

• Make a facebook group and when people ask you about your senate bid, respond as if you don't really care, but wouldn't mind tackling one more schedule commitment.
• Write a short candidate statement, it would help if it were witty, humble and somewhat intelligent.
• You will probably get elected even if you don't try.

[edit] If no one likes you and you have no friends

• Since this is still a popularity contest you should probably focus on moving yourself into a different group than being on student senate.
• You could still try pulling a stunt, like standing on a box in Wilder Bowl preaching.
• Write a candidate statement anyway. People may read it if it is short.
