Housing lottery

The housing lottery dictates whether or not you get to live in your preferred location.

For the 2005-2006 school year, the college started using a browser-based application.

Lottery numbers are bracketed according to the number of semesters you've attended Oberlin for, and then randomly assigned:

• 7 or more semesters: 1 - 300
• 6 semesters: 301 - 1100
• 4 or 5 semesters: 1101 - 2000
• 2 or 3 semesters: 2001 - 3000
• 0 or 1 semester: 3001 - 3100

The lower your lottery number, the better chance you have of getting to live where you want.
