Historical Performance
The Department of Historical Performance in the Conservatory offers a B.M., M.M., and Performer's Diploma program in the performance of historical instruments. Students enroll in courses in music theory, music history, continuo realization at the keyboard, as well as specific courses in historical performance. Private study is available in harpsichord, fortepiano, organ, baroque violin, viola da gamba, baroque cello, baroque flute, recorder, and historical oboes, and some suggested ensembles include Collegium Musicum, Baroque Orchestra, Viola de Gamba Consort, and the Renaissance Recorder Ensemble.
