First Church

First Church is a United Church of Christ-affiliated (which is a fairly liberal, non-dogmatic leaning branch of protestantism), "open and affirming", "just peace" church. It has ties to the College, and was founded around the same time (it really was the first church in Oberlin). Their services are open and some students attend regularly.

The church is located on the corner of Main Street and Lorain Street. The building is a historic landmark -- the famous evangelist Charles Finney was a pastor here (he was also the president of Oberlin College).

Services are Sundays at 10:00 am. Church dinners are Wednesdays at 5 pm, followed by some kind of educational program. College students eat free.
