Duncan Gale

Duncan Gale attended Oberlin College from 1999 to 2003. He majored in Philosophy and lived in the infamous Banana House along with fellow Oberlin screwballs Peter O'Leary, Zach Moser, and Benjy Mason. He was an original member of the sketch comedy group Piscapo's Arm, in which he wrote and performed the classic Big Three sketch, among others. He was also extensively involved in the improv community, performing with Sunshine Scouts and playing roles in the semi-improvised projects Last Exit in New Jersey, Holy Virgin High, and Sibling Ribaldry. After graduating from Oberlin, he relocated to Chicago with fellow Oberlin alumni Kabir Hamid, Graeme Hinde, and Michael Lebovitz to attempt to pursue improvisation on a professional level. The four of them made a name for themselves in Chicago as The Party!. After three years of involvement in the Chicago improv community, Gale finally realized that there is in fact no such thing as being a professional improviser. Faced with an utter lack of meaning in his life, he embarked upon a path pursued by so many others before him: he decided to go to graduate school. He began to study Philosophy of Religion at Harvard Divinity School in the Fall of 2006, and received his Master of Theological Studies degree in the Spring of 2008. He has absolutely no idea what being a "Master of Theological Studies" means, but the Harvard brand name seems to suffice when it comes to impressing people. He is currently working towards his PhD in Philosophy of Religion and Theology at Claremont Graduate University.
