Connie

Common term for a Conservatory student. Used at least as often as a descriptive term ('Know any connies?') as a more derogatory one. Often associated with one who talks only about music, spends many, many hours a day holed up in a practice room, and has a less open mind than most Obies. Certainly, there are those who fit this stereotype and those who don't.

While it may be true that the mind of a Connie may not be quite as "open" as that of an average college student, a Connie is significantly less likely than a regular Obie to be a dirty, smelly hippie.132.162.186.43 19:20, 20 Nov 2005 (CST)
