Banana House

Banana House is located at 30 Groveland Street. It is a large, two-story yellow house built in 1876. The house is named for its yellow color. The yard features a sign with the name of the house emblazoned across it, nearly identical to those seen in front of Oberlin College buildings. The sign, however, is a wooden fake merely intended to emulate the metal signs seen in front of every building owned by Oberlin College.

It was first painted yellow in the summer of 1986 by Jackson Thomas, the nephew of Oberlin's Chief of Police at the time. (For reals, I was there.)
