All-gender housing

During the 2004-2005 year, ResEd assigned a floor of Noah to be a test for all-gender housing. Apparently it was successful:

"I am happy to report that the Housing and Dining Committee agreed to proposal A for the redistribution of all-gender housing for the 2006-2007 academic year. This was also approved by Dean Gates. Therefore, all-gender housing will be located on Noah (2nd floor), East (Center 1st floor), Talcott (2nd floor), and South (3rd floor 340-354)." —Molly Tyson (April 2006) [1]

All-gender rooms have been common in living co-ops for a long time.

Current all-gender housing locations:

During the debate leading up to policy change a member of ResEd (Ehrai? Molly?) expressed concern that problems could arise because (heterosexual) couples would move into together and later break up causing housing distress. Members of the SIC and other campus organizations spoke out about the heteronormative nature of that judgment.
